- Established collaboration with many scientists, researchers and experts and major medical centers in the US, Canada, UK, and India to understand the epidemiology and causation of heart disease among Asian Indians.
- Established collaboration and received support from many prominent national medical associations such as AAPI (American Association of Physicians of Indian origin), AKMG (Association of Kerala Medical Graduates) and AACIO (American Association of Cardiologists of Indian origin) to conduct a pioneering study to ascertain the prevalence of diabetes, heart disease and risk factors among Asian Indian physicians in the US.
- Convened 3 meetings of the International Working Group on CAD among South Asians (Orlando, FL 1996; Anaheim, CA 1997; and Atlanta, GA 1998) and published the reports in Indian Heart Journal summarizing the epidemiology of heart disease in India, Canada, US, UK and other countries.
- Chaired the three Indo-US Health Summits and published consensus recommendations containing specific lower cut point for waist-size, BMI (body mass index) and cholesterol treatment targets.
- Currently involved in active collaboration with the Task Force of Indian and US experts on the twin epidemics of heart disease and diabetes among South Asians. This task force of 40 experts shares most of the goals and agendas of CADI Research, such as preparing a consensus statement with special focus on lower cut points for preventive therapies among South Asians.
- Currently working with several non-profit and non-governmental agencies and organizations like Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) and American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) and Association of Kerala Medical Graduates (AKMG) to raise public awareness.
